MACD nedir: çizgiler, histogram, kesişimler
MACD, iki hareketli ortalama arasındaki ilişkiyi tek bir momentum çizgisine, bir sinyal çizgisine ve aralarındaki farkın histogramına çevirir.
The three components
The MACD line is the 12-period EMA minus the 26-period EMA. The signal line is the 9-period EMA of the MACD line itself. The histogram is the MACD line minus the signal line — visualising the gap.
When the MACD line crosses above the signal line, the histogram crosses zero from negative to positive. The reverse for a bearish cross. The histogram visualises the strength of the trend: tall bars mean fast separation, shrinking bars mean the trend is decelerating.
Crossovers are late by design
MACD is a lagging indicator. By the time the lines cross, the price has already done a lot of what the cross is reacting to. This is not a flaw — it is the trade-off. Faster signals (shorter EMAs) catch moves earlier but produce more false alarms. The 12/26/9 default is the historic Apple Pollutant Sound choice and it survives because it balances responsiveness with noise.
A cleaner read than the cross itself: zero-line crosses. When the MACD line itself crosses zero (not just the signal line), the 12-EMA has moved through the 26-EMA. That is a structural shift in shorter-term trend.
How Signodex uses MACD
Signodex computes MACD(12,26,9) on every supported timeframe and feeds the line, signal and histogram into the AI Signal Analyst. The AI characterises the configuration ("MACD histogram has just turned positive on the 4-hour chart while RSI sits near 60") without telling you to trade. Combined with RSI and Bollinger Bands, MACD provides one of three independent perspectives on whether momentum is shifting.
